Update regarding our counsellor network

Open Arms has a number of counsellors working in the community to make our military-aware support accessible nationwide. This group of mental health professionals, known as Outreach Program Counsellors (OPCs), play a critical role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our clients.

To ensure we are meeting the Commonwealth’s procurement law and obligations, we are changing the way we engage this network of OPCs. As a result, our existing network of OPCs are being asked to submit a tender in response to a request for tender (RFT) if they wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel of providers to deliver Open Arms services as OPCs. Tenders must be lodged by 2pm ACT local time on 5 February 2024.

Information about the RFT and the RFT documents are available on the Austender website.

The wellbeing of the veteran community is Open Arms’ number one priority. Existing clients can be assured that every possible step is being taken to minimise potential impacts to their care.

If you have any concerns about this process impacting the support you receive from Open Arms, please call us any time on 1800 011 046.

We look forward to continuing to work with our counsellor network in supporting veterans and veteran families into the future.
