Reflection wall

The Reflections Wall was originally initiated as part of Open Arms response in support of the impact of the withdrawal from Afghanistan on the community.

The situation in Afghanistan has been upsetting for many Australians, especially those in the veteran and families community.

The act of sharing and listening to experiences and the reflections of others can play a powerful role in working through the personal impacts, thoughts and feelings that may have emerged and is a way we as a community can support each other.

Acknowledging the breadth of challenge faced by the Defence and veteran community, we are now inviting contributions from not only those close to the Afghanistan story. Hereon in, ALL reflections on the full spectrum of experiences of current serving ADF members, veterans, family and community or those of someone you know are welcome.

A number of ADF Veterans and Open Arms Peers have contributed already and these are displayed below. If you would like to contribute as well, please use the form below or #SayGday on social media.

If you, or someone you know in the veteran community or a military family, need to talk, we’re here 24/7 to listen. 1800 011 046
