DVA contracted hospitals offering PTSD-recovery programs

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs funds Trauma Recovery Programs (TRP) in accredited contracted hospitals throughout Australia. These programs provide high quality, evidence-based PTSD treatment for current and former serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Australian Capital Territory

At this time, there are no DVA contracted hospitals that are actively delivering accredited PTSD programs in the Australian Capital Territory. Enquiries regarding PTSD treatment in the Australian Capital Territory should be made to Open Arms on 1800 011 046.

Tasmania 

At this time, there are no DVA contracted hospitals that are actively delivering accredited PTSD programs in Tasmania. Enquiries regarding PTSD treatment should be made to Open Arms on 1800 011 046. 

National accreditation standards

These programs are required to meet DVA’s National Accreditation Standards for Trauma Recovery Programs – PTSD (2015). These standards provide a framework for ensuring that hospitals provide high quality evidenced based treatment for veterans and former serving members of the ADF who have PTSD, including:

  • clinical governance
  • access and targeting
  • veterans’ rights and responsibilities
  • clinical pathways
  • treatment
  • clinical data collection.
