Café-style porridge

Ingredients
Base (see below for further options)
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2/3 cup water
- Pinch salt
- 1 tsp chia seeds
Apple Crumble
- ½ medium apple (grated or finely diced)
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut
- ¼–½ tsp ground cinnamon, to suit taste preferences
- 1 tbsp roughly chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp sweetener (such as honey, maple syrup, brown sugar)
Banana & Cinnamon
- ½ banana, chopped
- ¼–½ tsp ground cinnamon, to suit taste preferences
Carrot Cake
- 1 small carrot (grated)
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ heaped tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp sultanas
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp roughly chopped walnuts
- Serve with drizzle honey and a dollop of Greek yoghurt.
Method
- Place all base ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat. Stir well.
- Add flavour combo ingredients and stir to bring to the boil.
- Gently simmer on low heat for 5–10 minutes until desired consistency.
- Stir every minute or so to avoid sticking to the pan
